JOB OBJECTIVE: Under direction, provides assistance with logistics, community engagement and dissemination of information for the implementation of Envision master planning services.

REQUIREMENTS: Full-time enrollment as outlined by host institution.
Experience with or enrollment in fields of communications, public relations, political science, business administration, behavioral sciences or psychology, or non-profit leadership.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
- Assists with the planning, logistics and set-up of community meetings for the “Envision” program;
- assists with the creation and dissemination of marketing materials for the “Envision” program;
- assists with the implementation of meetings, surveys, and focus groups and other ways of communicating with the community;
- assists with identification and recruitment of community stakeholders;
- assists with planning, logistics, set-up and implementation of community engagement events and community design charrette workshops;
- assists with the administration of the resident needs assessment, including the tracking of door to door efforts, digital cataloging of responses and general support to the resident survey proctors;
- carries out other duties as assigned;

EQUIPMENT USED: General office equipment and personal computer.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED: As designated by the department director.

ABILITIES REQUIRED: Ability to communicate effectively in all forms of information with the public, with residents of MDHA housing and with community agencies, service providers and local non-profit organizations; ability to speak effectively in public with large groups; ability to assist with planning, organization, facilitation, and implementation of various public meetings and activities; willingness to engage and learn from planning and architecture professionals; ability to write clearly and understandably; ability to analyze data and make recommendations on communication and engagement strategies; ability to establish working relationships with members of public and private entities and MDHA residents in order to further the mission of and participation in the Envision Master Planning program; willingness and mental and physical ability to perform the duties involved in this classification. Ability to perform work with or without an accommodation that requires sitting, standing, and walking, dexterity of hands and clarity of vision, speech and hearing and powers of observation; other physical duties as required.

LICENSES REQUIRED: Valid Driver’s License.
